The SUN TV had its humble beginnings in 'Poomalai'
- a monthly video magazine. Today, it grew up to
India's second largest television network which,
powerpacked Twenty TV channels and Seven FM Radios
in several Indian languages in infotainment covering
movies, entertainment, music, documentary and news,
each carries its own distinctive content and brand
personality while collectively providing audiences
a range of choice.
On
Tamil New Years Day (April 14) of 1993, Sun TV entered
Tamil homes for the first time. Initially for four-and-a-half
hours a day on a time-sharing arrangement with ATN,
today Sun TV is the world's No.1 Tamil Channel with
a motley mix of movies, News, serials and shows-24
hours a day.
Sun Network Launched KTV, an entertainment channel in Tamil. The network recognized an audience for whom cinema is religion and gave them a 24-hour shrine with block busters and film-based entertainment. Sun's pulse marketing' at work. Scoring big time, yet again. |
